Taking better pictures

Learn how to compose, frame, and change depth of field for exciting images of the wonderful trees with Fiona Bell Currie using your own mobile phone camera.

Tree Trails

Esteemed and passionate Chichester Tree Wardens will take you on a guided tour of Bishops Palace Gardens' magnificent trees, inspiring your paper sculpting or painting and drawing.

Paper Sculpture

Experienced teacher, sculptor and ceramicist, Sue Machado, will demonstrate basic to more complex paper sculptures. Paper is provided.  List of materials needed is available see below. Class is limited to 20 PLACES booking essential.

Painting and drawing

Excited artist and teacher Fiona Bell Currie will encourage you to make  dynamic compositions of the trees in Bishops Palace Garden. Please bring your own art materials and a stool.

BISHOPS PALACE GARDEN

ON FOOT: For this event, you can walk through from South Street, but much it's much quicker and easier from Avenue de Chartres. 

BY BUS: There is a bus stop right outside on Avenue de Chartres, Chichester Westgate Stop V. Buses 60, 71, 99, 107, 700, U7 and U8.  Buses going north stop opposite on Stop U.

BY TRAIN: Walk along South Street, turn left onto Avenue de Chartres, pass the playing field and follow signs on the right.

BY CAR: Parking is at Avenue de Chartres multi storey or Orchard Street car parks. Both less than 10 minutes walk away.

Materials List for Paper Sculpture with Sue.

You need to bring a pencil, black marker pen, scissors, ruler, a chopstick or cocktail sticks and double sided tape. Do bring a chair and picnic table if you're able. Sue provides the papers.

For painting and drawing with Fiona, bring those art materials you are most comfortable working with, plus a stool or chair and either an eisel or firm board.
